Severe thunderstorms, fueled by a Mediterranean low-pressure system and an upper-level cut-off low, struck North Africa on Monday, intensified by preceding hot conditions. Algeria and Tunisia experienced notable hail accumulations, with reports of up to 3cm deep layers in Algerian locations like Oum Ladjoul and Hammam Sokhna.
