Japan finances 130-megawatt photovoltaic project in Gabes

The Japanese government will finance a 130-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic project in the Gabes region of southeastern Tunisia, selected in February 2026 under the Carbon Credit Trading Mechanism. The Japanese Embassy in Tunis announced the project, specifying that the financial support could reach up to two billion yen, approximately 11 million euros and 37 million Tunisian dinars at current exchange rates.
