Canada Launches National Misconduct Registry for Sports Organizations

Canada launched a national public registry on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to list individuals banned or suspended from sports due to misconduct, including sexual assault and grooming. The government-funded agency Sport Integrity Canada published the list as the initial phase of a planned mandatory transparency requirement.

As reported by The Guardian, the Canadian Safe Sport Program Public Registry currently includes high-profile names such as former coach Bob Birarda. Birarda received a ban from Canada Soccer in 2022…
